FIGHTING FOR FREEDOM: Ted Cruz Introduces Bill To Block Covid Funding For States That Prevent Church Worship

WASHINGTON — Senator Ted Cruz has introduced legislation that would withhold Coronavirus funding to states and localities that prevent in church worship citing Covid restrictions.

The Safeguarding Americans from Coronavirus and Religious Exercise Discrimination (SACRED) Act would penalize the states and localities that Attorney General William Barr determines are targeting people of faith with religious discrimination.

“Throughout this pandemic we’ve seen numerous examples of state and local governments instituting discriminatory regulations that unfairly target people of faith and which restrict houses of worship from operating while exempting secular gatherings and operations from the same rules,” Cruz said in a statement.

Since the Coronavirus outbreak, Cruz has been a strong opponent of any legislation that infringes upon the right of citizens to worship freely in their chosen place of worship, warning of the slippery slope that such actions could lead to and the importance of protecting religious freedoms.

“As Congress continues to provide relief funds to combat the impact of COVID-19, it is crucial that we protect the First Amendment right of religious liberty from discrimination,” Cruz’s statement continued. “That’s why I’ve introduced the SACRED Act. By blocking funds from governments that discriminate against religious organizations, we can fairly protect religious liberty and the rights of those who seek to gather together safely for worship.”

POTUS PULLS OUT: Trump Withdraws US From World Health Organization Over Covid Concerns

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced the United States will end its relationship with the World Health Organization effective Friday, accusing the organization of caving to pressure from China and criticizing its handling of the Coronavirus pandemic.

“The world needs answers from China on the virus,” Trump said in a statement at the White House. “We must have transparency.”

“We have detailed the reforms that it must make and engaged with them directly, but they have refused to act,” he said. “Because they have failed to make the requested and greatly needed reforms, we will be today terminating our relationship with the World Health Organization and redirecting those funds to other worldwide and deserving urgent global public health needs.”

In previous remarks Trump said that China had not properly reported information it had about the Covid-19 virus to the World Health Organization and said China had pressured the WHO to “mislead the world.”

“Chinese officials ignored their reporting obligations to the World Health Organization and pressured the World Health Organization to mislead the world when the virus was first discovered by Chinese authorities,” Trump said. “Countless lives have been taken and profound economic hardship has been inflicted all around the globe.”

The president’s decision to withdraw the United States from the World Health Organization was met with criticism from both the left and right.

“To call Trump’s response to COVID chaotic & incoherent doesn’t do it justice. This won’t protect American lives or interests — it leaves Americans sick & America alone,” Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey, the top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, tweeted after the president’s announcement.

Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), who heads the American Medical Association’s chamber’s health committee, warned Trump “in the strongest possible terms” to reverse the decision.

“I disagree with the president’s decision,” Alexander said in a released statement. “Certainly there needs to be a good, hard look at mistakes the World Health Organization might have made in connection with Coronavirus, but the time to do that is after the crisis has been dealt with, not in the middle of it. Withdrawing U.S. membership could, among other things, interfere with clinical trials that are essential to the development of vaccines, which citizens of the United States as well as others in the world need. And withdrawing could make it harder to work with other countries to stop viruses before they get to the United States.”

Many conservatives, however, praised the president’s decision, calling out the organization not only for its treatment of China but also its record of support for pro-abortion organizations.

“I am proud that our country will no longer be sending taxpayer dollars to support this radical regime,” said Allan Parker, president of The Justice Foundation, a pro-life legal group. “True, life-saving health measures can be funded through other organzations without an abortion agenda.”

REPORT: Fmr Republican Presidential Candidate Herman Cain Hospitalized With COVID-19

WASHINGTON (Newsmax) — Newsmax TV contributor Herman Cain was admitted to a hospital Wednesday and is being treated for COVID-19.

The former Republican presidential candidate is doing well and is not on a ventilator, his staff tells Newsmax.

Cain, who also is a regular guest on “Newsmax Now,” joined Newsmax TV as a contributor in April.

He also hosts “Herman Cain’s America,” a weekend show that airs on Newsmax TV.

Cain had a successful business career, which included a stint as chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, before he announced his candidacy for president in 2011.

He advocacy for a tax reform program he dubbed the “9-9-9” tax plan made his a conservative grassroots star and, at one point, led the GOP primary field for president.

After his campaign, Cain re-established THE New Voice, an organization with a mission to inform and educate the public and advocate for the policy solutions in the areas of tax reform, energy policy, and national security.

In 2006, Cain received a diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer, which also had spread to his liver. Doctors gave him a 30% chance of survival, but he was able to beat the disease and remain cancer-free.

LOW BLOW: Man accused of doxxing GOP senators allegedly threatened to publish information relating to their children’s health

WASHINGTON — A Democratic congressional aide accused of publishing the private information of at least three Republican senators allegedly threatened to leak confidential health information relating to their children, say reports.

Jackson Cosko, who recently worked for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, (D)-Texas, was arrested this week on allegations that he posted personal information relating of a number of Republican senators online. According to police reports Cosko published the home addresses and phone numbers of Lindsey Graham, (R)-S.C., Mike Lee, (R)-Utah, and Orrin Hatch, (R)-Utah on Wikipedia without either’s knowledge or consent.

According to a sworn statement by Capitol Police Captain Jason Bell, a staffer saw Cosko at a computer inside a senator’s office where he used to work shortly after news broke of the doxxing. When the witness confronted Cosko and Cosko left the office.

A short time later, claims the witness, he received an email from the email address “livefreeorpwn@gmail.com” saying: “If you tell anyone I will leak it all. Emails signal conversations gmails. Senators children’s health information and socials,” with socials being a reference to the children’s social security numbers.

Since Cosko’s arrest, speculation has swirled as to whether or not Coscko was acting as part of an organized plot or if he was the lone bad actor.

Cosko’s defense attorney, Brian Stolarz, told Fox News his client, indeed, acted alone.

“We all need to take a deep breath,” said Stolarz. “In this political climate, everyone wants to jump to conclusions. We need to put the conspiracy theories aside and focus on the allegations. Jackson Cosko is innocent until proven guilty, and we intend to challenge the charges.”

Cosko has in the past worked for an array of other Democratic senators including Sen. Dianne Feinstein, (D)-Calif., Sen. Maggie Hassan, (D)-N.H., and former Sen. Barbara Boxer, (D)-Calif.

If convicted, Cosko faces up to eight years in state prison.

REPUBLICANS NOT WELCOME: Actor James Woods says agent dropped him due to his conservative views

LOS ANGELES, CA (AP) — James Woods, one of Hollywood’s most outspoken conservatives, says his agent dropped him as a client on the Fourth of July, citing patriotism.

Woods on Thursday shared on Twitter an email from his agent, Ken Kaplan. In the excerpted email, dated Wednesday, Kaplan said he was “feeling patriotic” and no longer wanted to represent Woods.

“It’s the 4th of July and I’m feeling patriotic,” wrote Kaplan in the posted email. “I don’t want to represent you anymore. I mean I could go on a rant but you know what I’d say.”

Woods is passionate supporter of President Donald Trump on social media. On Wednesday, his tweets included the allegation that immigration protesters were only Democrats seeking “illegal votes” and a reference to former President Barack Obama as a “stain” on America.

Kaplan, who represents a number of high-profile Hollywood actors at the Gersh Agency, didn’t immediately respond to emails Thursday.

Woods, who called his agent a “political liberal,” said he replied to Kaplan that “if you’re feeling patriotic, you would appreciate free speech and one’s right to think as an individual.”

The most recent credit for the 71-year-old Woods is a voiceover for the animated series “Justice League Action.” In September, actress Amber Tamblyn wrote an open letter to Woods accusing him of hitting on her when she was 16. Woods called Tamblyn’s story “a lie.”

GOWDY GONE: ‘Bulldog’ South Carolina congressman says he will not seek re-election

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Tough-talking South Carolina Republican lawmaker and House Oversight Committee chairman Trey Gowdy announced Wednesday he will resign from Congress at the end of his term.

“I will not be filing for re-election to Congress nor seeking any other political or elected office; instead I will be returning to the justice system,” Gowdy said in a statement released to the press.

Gowdy, 53, says he feels driven at this point in his life to turn his attention toward the ongoing search for justice.

“Whatever skills I may have are better utilized in a courtroom than in Congress, and I enjoy our justice system more than our political system,” said Gowdy. “As I look back on my career, it is the jobs that both seek and reward fairness that are most rewarding.”

Known for his no-nonsense approach to Congressional issues and demand for truth, Gowdy has long been courted by his fellow Republicans to run for Speaker of the House, an offer he has often rejected.

A former prosecutor, Gowdy made a name for himself as chairman of a special House panel charged with investigating then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s response to the deadly 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, during which Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, State Department Information Management Officer Sean Smith, and diplomatic security agents Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were killed.

Gowdy’s announcement sparked overwhelming response from his Congressional colleagues, who said they were sorry to see him go.

“He will be sorely missed in Congress, and I wish him and his family success in their future endeavors,” National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Steve Stivers said in a statement.

“I always said the reason @TGowdySC was amazing at his job was bc he disliked politics so much. Trey, thank you for your impatience, sacrifice, and fight to make our country a more just place. SC and our country thank you for your service. I thank you for your friendship,” US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Hayley tweeted in response to the news.

“There is a time to come and a time to go,” Gowdy tweeted to his followers. “This is the right time, for me, to leave politics and return to the justice system.”

“The NRCC is confident this seat will stay solidly in Republican control in November,” Stivers said of Gowdy’s soon-to-be-empty seat.

Gowdy’s northern South Carolina district is traditionally heavily Republican and includes the city of Greenville, which went solidly for Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election.

ROCK SOUNDS OFF; Senate candidate defends use of Confederate flag in show; blasts those who refuse to stand for national anthem

DETROIT, MI — Rocker and possible Michigan senatorial candidate Kid Rock shot back at critics on Monday who ridiculed him for his use of Confederate flags in his shows and blasted professional athletes who refuse to stand for the national anthem during games.

Responding to a planned protest by the National Action Network’s Detroit chapter of his six upcoming Detroit concerts, Rock, who’s real name is Robert Ritchie, said his critics, who are mainly on the left, are simply “wasting Time.”

“Pay NO attention to the garbage the extreme left is trying to create! (and by the way, f–k the extreme left and the extreme right!),” the singer wrote Monday on his official Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/kidrock/posts/10155502465850049). “They are trying to use the old confederate flag BS, etc. to stir the pot, when we all know none of this would be going on if I were not thinking of running for office.”

Rock, 46, who announced last month that he was considering running for Michigan Senate on a Republican ticket, said his detractors were throwing accusations around that he was a racist because they fear his possible run.

“Pretty funny how scared I have them all and their only agenda is to try and label people / me racist who do not agree or cower to them,” he wrote. “My track record in Detroit and Michigan speaks for itself, and I would dare anyone talking trash to put theirs up against mine. I am also a homeowner and taxpayer in the city of Detroit, so suck on that too!”

“I am the bona fide KING OF DETROIT LOVE and it makes me smile down deep that you haters know that! Your jealousy is merely a reflection of disgust for your own failures and lack of positive ideas for our city,” Rock continued.

“I am however very disappointed that none of the people, businesses or charities I have so diligently supported in Detroit have had anything to say about all these unfounded attacks from these handful of jackasses and The Detroit Free Press. So for the unforeseen future I will focus my philanthropy efforts on other organizations besides the ones I have supported in the past,” Rock went on before turning his sights on black rights activist Al Sharpton’s highly publicized issue with back taxes . “I would however employ that NAN go ahead and make up these losses since they claim to be so good for Detroit and do not want me opening the arena and generating tons of jobs and tax dollars for the city and people I LOVE… IDIOTS! ….. (Has Al Sharpton even paid his back taxes yet?)”

Lashing back at the National Action Network’s targeting of his upcoming performances in response to his criticism of former NFL player Colin Kaepernick’s refusal to stand during the national anthem last year, Rock didn’t mince words.

“To be clear – F–k ANYONE who takes a knee or sits during our national anthem! Pretty sure if Russell Wilson or Tom Brady were doing it they would have no problem finding a job playing for any team they wanted in the NFL! So cut the bulls**t!”

“I know I should probably not even have posted anything about these bottom feeders but I will always stand up for myself, my family, my friends, my fans, my city, my state, my country and the good in human nature,” Rock wrote before ending his online rant, “P.P.P.P.P.S. I LOVE BLACK PEOPLE!!”

The rocker signed his online tirade, “God bless”.

Calls for comment to Al Sharpton’s spokesperson have not yet been returned.
