PANETTA HITS TRUMP: Former Defense Secretary Claims POTUS Has Gone ‘AWOL’ Over Corona Crisis

WASHINGTON– Former President Barack Obama’s Defense Secretary Leon Panetta on Thursday attacked President Donald Trump over his administration’s handling of the Coronavirus pandemic.

“This is a major crisis,” Panetta told Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN, noting infectious diseases expert Anthony Fauci’s recent warning that America may soon hit 100,000 new cases a day.

“But the president, rather than bringing together some kind of national strategy to confront this crisis, simply resorts to tweeting about vandalism and other things to kind of divert attention from the crisis that’s there.”

“We have a president that is not willing to stand up and do what is necessary in order to lead this country during time of major crisis,” said Panetta. “I have never experienced a president who has avoided that responsibility.”

Panetta then went on to echo presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s slam at Trump’s handling of the pandemic, saying “It seems like our wartime president has surrendered and waved the white flag, and left the battlefield.”

According to a report published by Johns Hopkins University, the Coronavirus has infected more than 2.6m Americans and killed 128,000.

When questioned Wednesday about the president’s recent efforts to combat the virus, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, said: “The president is not focused on talking; he’s focused on action. And this administration has taken historic action with regard to the coronavirus.

“We have an excess amount of PPE, surge – a huge amount of ventilators in the stockpile. Things that could never be done, we were told, have been done under this administration. Testing more than 600,000 a day. This president has done a historic job with regard to coronavirus.”

TRUMP’S STORM: President fires back with legal action amid Stormy Daniels’ claim she was threatened over alleged affair

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump on Monday responded to allegations by adult film star Stormy Daniels that she was threatened to keep quiet over an alleged affair between she and Trump that took place more than a decade ago, prior to Trump’s presidency.

Brent Blakely, an attorney representing Michael Cohen, President Trump’s personal attorney, sent Daniels a cease and desist letter Sunday evening following an interview the former porn star did with “60 Minutes” regarding the pair’s alleged affair.

In it, Blakely demanded that Daniels apologize for insinuating that Cohen was behind a threat Daniels says she received by a stranger in 2011, ordering her to stay quiet about her supposed tryst with the billionaire business mogul.

“A guy walked up on me and said to me, ‘Leave Trump alone. Forget the story,'” Daniels told Anderson Cooper during the broadcast. “And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, ‘That’s a beautiful little girl. It’d be a shame if something happened to her mom.'”

Although she did not call Cohen out by name, Daniels insinuated that Trump’s personal attorney ordered the veiled threat in an effort to protect his client. In the letter, Blakely further ordered Daniels to refrain from making “false and defamatory statements” about Cohen in the future.

In an exchange between Daniels and Cooper during the “60 Minutes” interview, Daniels’ contended that the physical relationship she had with Trump was “completely consensual” and made it clear that she was “not a victim”.

Anderson Cooper: “You were 27, he was 60. Were you physically attracted to him?”

Stormy Daniels: “No.”

Anderson Cooper: “Not at all?”

Stormy Daniels: “No.”

Anderson Cooper: “Did you want to have sex with him?”

Stormy Daniels: “No. But I didn’t– I didn’t say no. I’m not a victim, I’m not–”

Anderson Cooper: “It was entirely consensual.”

Stormy Daniels: “Oh, yes, yes.”

In a lawsuit filed earlier this month, Daniels said she had an “intimate” relationship with Trump in 2006 and 2007 but had signed a confidentiality agreement regarding the affair, which obligated her to keep quiet. Daniels signed the deal, which had been orchestrated by Cohen prior to the 2016 election, in exchange for $130,000.

Daniels now contends, however, that the agreement is void because Trump never signed it. Cohen has since threatened to fine Daniels $20 million in damages for violating the terms of the contract.

Meanwhile, Daniels’ attorney, Michael Avenatti shot back last week against claims that his client was fabricating the story courtesy a cryptic tweet.

“If ‘a picture is worth a thousand words,’ how many words is this worth?????” Avenatti wrote alongside a photo of an unmarked computer disc.

While Avenatti refused to disclose the disc’s contents, he told CNN later in the day that the photo was a heads up to Trump’s attorneys.

“It’s a warning shot to Michael Cohen and anyone else associated with President Trump that they better be very, very careful,” Avenatti said.

President Trump, while admitting that he has met Daniels on at least one occasion, has not formally addressed her allegations.

Calls to the White House and to Cohen’s representatives for statement were each met with “no comment”.

ASLAN AXED: CNN FIRES ‘BELIEVER’ HOST AFTER SERIES OF ANTI-TRUMP RANTS

ATLANTA, GA — CNN announced on Friday its decision to part ways with Reza Aslan after the network was bombarded with complaints over Aslan’s recent series of anti-Trump Twitter rants.

“CNN has decided to not move forward with production on the acquired series ‘Believer with Reza Aslan’ (season two),” a CNN rep confirmed when reached for statement. “We wish Reza and his production team all the best.”

Aslan’s six-part series “Believer”, which launched in January, had just completed airing of its first season. A second season had already been ordered.

Aslan sparked anger from Conservatives last week after tweeting that Trump is a “piece of sh–” who “is not just an embarrassment to America and a stain on the presidency. He’s an embarrassment to humankind.”

After a push to have Aslan fired began trending on Twitter, the host sheepishly apologized, saying he had lost his cool in response to the president’s decision to promote the need for his embattled travel ban in the wake of the most recent terror attack in London.

“I should have used better language to express my shock and frustration at the president’s lack of decorum and sympathy for the victims of London,” Aslan posted to his social media accounts. “I apologize for my choice of words.”

Aslan is the second personality in as many weeks to be cut from the CNN lineup. The network also recently cut ties with Kathy Griffin after the comedian posed with a bloody mock up Trump’s severed head during a photo shoot. Griffin had been a long time co-host of the the network’s New Years Eve broadcast alongside chief anchor Anderson Cooper.

FAKE NEWS? CNN CAUGHT PROMOTING WHAT CRITICS SAY IS PRO-MUSLIM AGENDA

LONDON, ENGLAND — Embattled cable news network CNN has reportedly been caught staging what critics say is a pro-Muslim rally in the wake of the latest London terror attacks.

In a video that surfaced on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhFyN-Y0Is0), CNN reporter Becky Anderson can allegedly be seen directing several self-described “Muslim mothers” to stand behind her as, seeming on cue, the group begins rallying support for London Police.

The video, which quickly went viral, caused a wave of backlash on social media, with even some of the networks most frequent viewers slamming the network over claims of “fake news”.

CNN, which has faced allegations of staging news stories to promote left leaning political agendas in the past, denied the allegations on Monday in a statement to Fox News.

“This story is nonsense,” a rep for CNN told Fox via email (http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2017/06/05/cnn-denies-staging-pro-muslim-shot-after-london-terror-attack.html). “The group of demonstrators that was at the police cordon was being allowed through by officers so they could show their signs to the gathered media. The CNN crew along with other media present simply filmed them doing so.”

“You an clearly see at the beginning of the video on social media that a group of press photographers is asking the demonstrators to stand in front of them so that they can see them — there’s nothing sinister going on there,” the spokesperson added.

Despite CNN’s denial, the network is no stranger to similar controversies.

One of the most famous examples of CNN trickery involves an interview in which network anchor Anderson Cooper claimed to be reporting live from the funeral of a child he said had died during the alleged Sandy Hook school shooting (http://www.naturalnews.com/039127_Anderson_Cooper_blue_screen_fake_news.html).

During the piece, Cooper, supposedly interviewing loved ones at the scene, turns to the side and his nose seemingly disappears. This, say photographic experts who were quick to catch the slip up, occurs when a reporter is placed in front of a “green screen”, a technological prop that allows producers to project an image behind the reporter, making it seem as though he or she may be somewhere they are not. Green screens are typically used only in sound stages. Never when a reporter is actually on scene.

The Sandy Hook shooting was later used to justify a wealth of anti-Second amendment executive orders by then president Barack Obama, with whom the network had worked closely throughout his presidency.
