WASHINGTON– In a landmark decision, the Supreme Court has voted to strike down Roe v. Wade according to an initial draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito circulated inside the court and obtained by POLITICO.

A close relative got pregnant. I heard about it and called her. She was/is a favorite. We talked for a long time. At one time in my past (once a democrat) I believed strongly in two issues: the environment (I believed in stopping those mean old republicans from destroying that environment.) At least that’s what I came to believe.
The other issue was abortion. I didn’t necessarily believe strongly in abortion but strongly enough to stand in front of clinics and hold hands with others, blocking “entrance” to those clinics.
THAT was a long time ago. Today I still “believe” in the environment but no more activism, nearly the same with abortion but no way any more automatically “pro-choice.” I guess it depends on who the pregnant young girl is.
Abortion is a mind-blowing issue and likely always will be.
So what happened with that favorite “relative?” I told her my feelings and no matter what she decided I would support her decision. She stayed pregnant. Today her daughter is grown, married, and has a young daughter of her own.
A very happy ending.
