JACKET GATE: Melania Trump’s ‘I really don’t care’ jacket causes uproar from the left as first lady takes a jab at the mainstream media

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A jacket worn by first lady Melania Trump on Thursday to a Texas facility housing migrant children in Texas led to a frenzy on Twitter from those calling her choice of clothing inappropriate.

The army green jacket manufactured by Spain based retailer Zara, declares on its back the question: “I really don’t care do you?”

The first lady was initially spotted wearing the jacket as she boarded a flight to the border at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. Seemingly oblivious to the controversy, she donned the same jacket as she departed the aircraft after returning to the D.C. area Thursday evening.

When reached for comment, spokeswoman Mrs.Trump’s spokesperson, Stephanie Grisham, laughed off the controversy and compared it to an incident last year when the first lady was criticized for wearing stilettos to volunteer in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

“It’s a jacket,” Grisham told Fox News. “There was no hidden message. After today’s important visit to Texas, I hope the media isn’t going to choose to focus on her wardrobe. (Much like her high heels last year).”

President Donald Trump on Thursday took to Twitter to state that his wife’s choice of jacket was a direct swing at the mainstream media.

“I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?” written on the back of Melania’s jacket, refers to the Fake News Media, the president tweeted. “Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!”
